Kenes Rakishev and Aselle Tasmagambetova launch “Build Your Bussiness” (BYB )contest 2021. It is an annual event the people of Kazakhstan like and closely watch. They root for their favourite teams and evaluate their own chances to succeed in business. In certain sense, it is the most important part of the contest. It promotes the very entrepreneurial spirit among Kazakhstani, Kenes Rakishev suggests.

Saby Foundation, the oldest private charity fund in Kazakhstan seems to be far away from the purely entrepreneurial contest. The fund’s main objective is to help those in need, disabled and socially vulnerable. However, it all makes sense due to the paradigm of self-help and self-reliance Aselle Tasmagambetova implements in most of foundation’s programmes. To be truly successful and sustainable each initiative should lead to inducing the dignity and self-respect in the people that Saby is helping. Entrepreneurial spirit helps people to get out of poverty, of the dependence of relatives, of state aid. And it is exactly what Kenes Rakishev, a co-founder of Saby, and Aselle Tasmagambetova want their nation to achieve. Those who gain a success, in their turn, will help others more likely, recalling their own modest roots of success.

The Saby BYB contest is not about a business in a narrow sense of the word. It is about living an active life: inventing something new and something that will help others. It’s all about integral beauty of the human life. The charity is not the right and not the obligation, Aselle Tasmagambetova once suggested. It is a part of the soul, the better part that each and everyone of us have.

As many other programmes Saby implementation of BYB is the result of Aselle Tasmagambetova and Kenes Rakishev own experience. Moreover, they do not act alone: Saby has many friends and partners, from major businessmen to modest supporters who influence the charity and coin their own ideas. It helps Saby to stay diverse and dive to the most acute and actual social issues.

How BYB 2021 will be different from the past BYB’s?

This year’s prize fund will be $300,000. In each nomination – and there are several – only one winner will be selected. The projects can’t be related to alcohol, tobacco and gambling. Every detail is present at

Aselle Tasmagambetova and Kenes Rakishev greeted the participants and invited entrepreneurs to join the race. Applications are accepted until 9 September 2021. Those who join early will have some preferences.

Aselle Tasmagambetova reminded the participants that grants are completely free. According to the rules, every winner must employ at least one disabled or orphan from the other Saby programmes which seems only fair.

Kenes Rakishev, as well as other prominent business and media figures will judge the contestants. Being an experienced entrepreneur, industrialist and startup investor Kenes Rakishev is the best suited judge for the contest, but every other voice and public support is important too.
